CMS Update

While Sara is at the midnight release for Twilight-Eclipse with her girlfriends I have decided to post. Last week we finally received some good news from CMS schools, Benjamin will be attending Cotswold Elementary for Kindergarten! We had applied thru the Magnet Lottery and did not get in the first lottery so we submitted a medical transfer to faciliate a late school start which is beneficial for Benjamin with his SPD. Our medical request was denied, so we then appealed to the school board and got to present in front of two board members and student placement officials. Sara spent hours preparing articles and information that we presented in large packets at the meeting where we were given 5 minutes to present our case. Sara read a strong statement which included a poem which describes a child with SPD and tugs at both our hearts, it brought tears from both of us. Then last week we received a call from student placement that our case was being sent back to the Medical Board for review as the appeal committee was not comfortable making the medical decision. We held our breaths and got a call back that same day, the Medical Board did indeed grant our request. It has been a long couple of months having this hang over our heads and it is great to have it finally resolved and to know that Benjamin will be in a situation that will be better for him to succeed with a late school start (9:15am) and be a part of the IB (International Bacalorate) program. Thanks to all those who supported and prayed for us...
Tyler celebrated his 3rd Birthday, a special appearance was made by the real Pablo....

Traveled to Myrtle Beach for the weekend, got to visit with Sophia and Noelani.

Benjamin sadly finished up TK at St Stephens, amazing how his 4 years went by so fast.

Boys have been beating the heat playing outside in the water.

Ashley returned to have fun and watch the boys, as Mom and Dad traveled to NY for Sara to attend her reunion at Wells and Dad also attended Hams wedding in Mass. To top things off our return flight was canceled so we got to drive 11 hours back from Syracuse, at least we drove in style in a Grand Marquis...
